the seven habits

01
be proactive.

stop waiting for your life to change before you decide who you want to be. take responsibility for your choices instead of blaming circumstances or other people. you can’t control what happens. you can control how you respond. act based on your values, not your emotions.

02
begin with the end in mind.

know where you’re trying to go before you decide which road to take. every decision becomes easier when you know what you’re building. create a vision for your future and let that guide your daily decisions. live intentionally rather than by default.

03
put first things first.

don’t let what’s urgent steal time from what’s important. prioritize what truly matters over what simply demands your attention. make time for your health, your relationships, your learning, and your long-term goals before life decides for you.

04
think win-win.

look for solutions where everyone benefits. life isn’t a zero-sum game. someone else’s success doesn’t take away from yours. choose collaboration over competition whenever possible, and believe there is enough opportunity for everyone.

05
seek first to understand, then to be understood.

listen to understand, not to prepare your response. people open up when they feel understood. understanding someone doesn’t require agreeing with them. real communication begins with curiosity, not persuasion.

06
synergize.

value differences instead of fearing them. other people see things you can’t. the best ideas are often built together. collaboration creates outcomes that no one person could have accomplished alone.

07
sharpen the saw.

continually renew yourself in four areas: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. take care of the instrument that builds your life. exercise. learn. reflect. strengthen your relationships. growth isn’t something you achieve once—it’s something you maintain for the rest of your life.
